The Resia Lake is known, in the history books, due to its artificial widening, and, in the tour books, due to its bell tower surfacing from the waters as a phantom warning. Finished only at the end of the Forties, the artificial dam built on the Resia Lake gave way to the unification with the Curon Lake, in the middle between the upper one and that most South, Muta Lake, so to harness the electricity production. By doing so, however, the entire Curon Venosta hamlet - despite its inhabitants' protests, was torn down by the waters and rebuilt just a bit further. The church we see in the film, however, remains a mystery: the huge basin has already been made, and the praying site is still standing: What happened to it, to have survived so far?
