In this film from 1975, the grape harvest is documented, a moment of work in the fields that turned into a moment of social gathering. Women, men and children pick grapes, sometimes tasting the grapes directly from the bunches. Along the rows of vines one sees wooden vats used as containers for the grapes, which are emptied inside and, on some occasions, pressed directly on the spot. The images convey the atmosphere of a community ritual, one of the few moments when all generations and genders were involved in agricultural work. The grape harvest was in fact an event that required the participation of the entire community, including children, who often performed lighter tasks.
