The Festa dei Ceri in Gubbio was held - and it still is - yearly from 1160 to 2019 (and it will keep on going for a lot), and there was no reason for it not to be celebrated in 1929. The event, which gathers the whole Gubbio and Region Umbria community - at the point that the "Ceri" were drawn into the Region emblem in 1973 - starts in Via Savelli and climbs up for more than 4 km, all of them running, up to the Sant'Ubaldo basilica. What's for sure is that those "Ceri", which are huge, don't make it easy for the carriers (the "ceraioli").
