Rome, June 1944. Starting from San Giovanni in Laterano, the camera follows, somehow, the stream of people walking through the city in a mood of renewed trust. Among the smiles and the "lifts" given by the soldiers to the citizens, though, there are still the scars of the war and its bombing. There will be time, however, to rebuild, after the liberation from Fascism just occurred.
