The track looks small, if compared to those we have nowadays, not to mention the safety regulation not wuite matching those in the present day. The fog we see on the top does not help for sure, but the athletes, however, finish the race. The competition was won by Austrian Toni Sailer, but it is quite more extraordinary Japanese Chiharu Igaya's second place - the only Asian athlete to ever get a medal in Alpine Skiing competitions.
