When the filmmaker comes back from the US to his hometown, Tindari, not all his relatives have yet had the occasion to see an actual camera at work in real life. They pose for him stiffly, in an unnatural way, giving away a sense of curiosity and authenticity that reminds us of the origins of cinema, when a still rural Sicily was depicted with its coast visible in the background.
