On 12 October 1969, the Zamagna family visits the Montefiore Conca Chestnut Festival, nicknamed the ‘Oktober Fest Montefiorese’. Romano Zamagna accurately documents the day, shooting footage that he will later edit, soundtrack and title. The camera lingers on a woman rolling out piadina dough, on visitors intent on buying chestnuts and on children eating them with gusto. The festival comes alive with men, women and children enjoying the piadine in the streets.
