In the film set during the preparation of a dinner at home in Milan in 1973, after the child has eaten, dinner preparations continue in the kitchen. Three women are intent on cooking in a cheerful family atmosphere: they cut cold meats and cheeses and show the camera the food baked in the oven. In a moment of levity, the women walk down the corridor from the kitchen to the dining room to serve the food, smiling and posing in front of the camera. The men, also amused, join them and move with plates of broth, bread and wine, ready to be served at the table.
