February 1955: at Terminillo, a mountain resort in Lazio known as “Rome’s mountain” and, already in the 1950s, an emerging destination for skiing and winter tourism, the Simeoni family takes part in children’s ski lessons. The excerpt shows a small downhill race, with the finish-line sign clearly visible; the filmmaker’s daughter, wearing the bib of Aimone Sport Rieti, wins the competition and, in the end, holds the winner’s trophy in her hands.
