In August 1958, Renato Longo documented summer life in Laceno, an Irpinian plateau at the foot of Mount Cervialto. The images show a group of women engaged in washing clothes in the stream, with rhythmic movements and shared gestures, while some children watch or play near the water. The camera then follows the children along a barren hill, among dry grass and stones, as they climb and run freely, with the wide valley and the mountains encircling the plateau behind them.
