The west side of the Adige unfolds under the amateur's eyeas a natural continuation of Castelvecchio Bridge, a mix of natural outline and human craft. Destroyed at the end of the war it was decided to reud it as it was, using the full extent of the documents available and the fact that the base of the pillars were still there. Some of the materials were taken anew, a lot recoverd from the river and partly they used the rock from the San Giorgio in Valpolicella quarry, where the original medieval materials had been taken from.
