Nothing to say about those who get to the Etna by bus or their own car; but using the funicular to get on top really allows for a terrific sight. Started in the Late Fifties and divided in two legs and three stations, it was repeatedly object of the volcano's eruption (1971, 1983, 1985, 2001) which continuously destroyed the upper stations, always rebuilt at different altitudes. Since 2004, it was decided to give up on the upper one, so the arrival station now stands at 2504 meters above sea level.
