Castled upon a tableland, its unstable position is due to the inevitable erosion of the rocks it stands on, a phenomenon chiseling the ravines around it and condemn it to disappear - hence the terrible nickname. It is only reachable through a concrete bridge - built in 1965 - and since 2013 Civita di Bagnoregio has become a pay-to-visit site for tourists, being there only 11 inhabitants since 2011.
