Rome, June 1944. As a usual late-Spring afternoon, people look out the windowand watch everything which is moving in the streets. Below, groups of people, soldiers and - unavoidably given the circumstance - vans with allied soldiers onto them, around which citizens gather (with Italian banners in hand) asking for (and getting) some cigarette: Rome has just been liberated from Fascism.
