The "Friendship Meeting" was born after the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, causing over time an easing of tension on the two fronts of the "Iron Curtain" by inviting and formally recognizing the DDR athletes - despite the prefecture's prohibition to show its flag. Soon moved to Siena, in 1973 amateur Sauro Ravaglia films some of its stages. We can see, interposed to a few slow-motion shots, some images - in slow-motion, too - of Dwight Stones, US high jumper and holder world record - earned in Berlin a few days earlier - and one among the first to implement the Fosbury flop, beside being the first man to jump 2,30 mt. and above.
