This is the same rooftop from which Gianfranco Mingozzi filmed the 'tarantate' women of Galatina in 1961 for his documentary 'La terra del rimorso'. The reason is logistical, the sick and their relatives did not want to be filmed, as the disease was felt to be a tragic and private fact, the eye of the camera disturbed their souls. This is why Mazzeo, with his camera, 16mm hid on the roof of the building opposite the chapel of St Paul.
