In 1957, the Boccafolgi family was in Pavullo nel Frignano, a mountain resort located in the Apennines of Modena. Ermenegildo filmed a child smiling and walking towards the camera on a grassy slope, wearing a dark hat. The images then portray him next to his mother, intent on washing something in an outdoor basin, immersed in the thick green of the Apennines. The film then shifts to black and white: mother and son move through bushes and trees in the woods.
