In 1964, Don Vitalini documented daily life in the alpine village of Villa di Tirano. The images show men, a woman, and a boy engaged in various work and maintenance activities, from washing dishes to resting outdoors, immersed in a mountain context characterized by rustic stone buildings, grassy slopes, and conifer woods. A significant part of the clip, from which it takes its title, is dedicated to a domestic activity carried out outdoors: washing the dishes after the meal. A man, sitting on a bench, washes ceramic plates and bowls and a decorated jug, using a bucket of water and an improvised wooden bench. Other men and a boy watch or participate, showing collaboration and task sharing. This scene reflects the title "Handy Men (Uomini tutto fare)," highlighting the versatility of the men in performing tasks traditionally considered feminine according to patriarchal logics, and emphasizes the importance of collaboration in an essential high-mountain living context.
