In 1975, Emilio Ferrari filmed the landscape of the Campo Imperatore plateau (the largest and most imposing plateau in the Apennines), in the Gran Sasso massif in Abruzzo. The camera documents a rustic wooden building, probably a mountain hut, with the sign "Alloggio Taddei", flanked by a small white building with the artisanal sign "macelleria" (butcher shop). The two structures overlook a square where cars and campers are parked, with the Gran Sasso mountains visible in the background. In the final part of the clip, the Campo Imperatore Astronomical Observatory appears, located at about 2,150 meters of altitude and built in the Fifties to escape light pollution, recognizable as the highest professional observatory in Italy.
