In the summer of 1967, Giuseppe Lenzi documented the final days of his stay in Aosta Valley with his most anticipated feat: the climb to Mont Blanc. Accompanied by Lucio, whom he met on-site, the filmmaker faced a two-day ascent starting from the moraine of the Miage glacier. The images, accompanied by Lenzi's voice-over, convey the fatigue of the long march among boulders, ice, snow, and rock, interrupted only by brief stops at rare water springs. At nightfall, the two reached the Gonella Hut (Rifugio Gonella), at 3,071 meters, tired but ready for the final ascent. The sequence ends with moments of conviviality at the hut, where Lenzi and his companions shared the fire and Alpine songs, waiting for the night and the great adventure of the following day.
