With Dante who "indignantly look the huge mess", as Riccardo Marasco sang in L'Alluvione ("The Flood"), the works to reclaim the square from the remnants of the 1966 flood, happeed just some time before, keep going. That same monument, which had taken some damage, was temporarily removed and was put back five years later after a restoration process - not without protests, since it was moved from the centre of the square to the left side of the parvise, hence gaining some public space.
