In 1980 the motorboat "Amanda" - the ship of solidarity - sails from Genoa. It is going to circumnavigate Southern Africa, stocked with helps for refugees of the South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe liberation movements. "Amanda" was one of the main international solidarity ventures by Reggio Emilia, carried on by Giuseppe Soncini, president of the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital and the member of the City Council of Reggio Emilia. Franco Cigarini will follow Giuseppe Soncini and will prduce film documents of the journey, whose outcome will be the "Amanda: The Italian Solidarity Ship" documentary. During the trip, Giuseppe Soncini visits the location of the Parliament of Zimbabwe.
