On March 23, 1975, the CAI Florence documented the Giant Slalom Social Race held on the Pista del Sole, in the Cavone area, in the Corno alle Scale resort, on sound Super8 film. The images show the lively atmosphere of the day: skiers—men, women, and youths—preparing for the start, waits at the ski lifts, convivial moments, and descents through the giant slalom gates. The clip alternates scenes of the ascent with the ski lift, close-ups of the athletes, panoramas of the crowded slope, and race sequences.
