Long, small and streamlined, the sand diggers' boats float over the River Arno which shiens, while, behind the boughs, Victory Bridges comes shyly out. had been built in 1931, and in 1934 (just before the inauguration) it collapsed under the exceedingly heavy "Roman" statues. It was built again, but later destroyed in July 1944. Today, in fact, there is a more modern version of it, quickly built between 1949 and 1950.
