Enrico Chierici and Clara Pezzuto walk in the Sampierdarena district. Whereas in second part of the reel the place is unknown, in the first part they are at the Piazzale dell'Autocamionale, known as "La Superba" ("The Proud", from the LUCE newsreel), the highway tract built under Fascism in the early 1930s and inaugurated by the king in 1935. What we see is the stylised Fascist symbol, present in many legs of the highway - even if, whilst it stood there until the mid-Seventies, it is difficult to find any kind of information about its current whereabout and what happened to it next. The artifacts on the image, instead, are a trait of cellulose triacetate decay: in advanced stages, in fact, the film base cannot hold the plastifiers anymore, so they migrate toward the surface of the film, blooming in these peculiar crystals.
