Willing to celebrate the victory in the Great War, Verona sent out an announcement to build the new Victory Bridge in 1925, won by architect Ettore Fagiuoli. The building site started during the Fall of 1928, and it was finished by 1931. As all of the other bridges in Verona, it was blown up by the Germans in 1945 and rebuild, based upon another similar Ettore Fagiuoli's project, between 1947 and 1953: it is the one we currently see.
