In 1957, Nicola Tocco documented a trip to Lake Braies (Lago di Braies). The film opens with a short, handcrafted animation featuring the title "Braies" and a drawing of mountains and a boat. This is followed by shots of the lake: green-blue water, the shore with the trail frequented by hikers, and the Dolomite walls in the background. The camera performs a panoramic shot showing the forest, the small wooden church, and the historic hotel overlooking the water. Tocco films the family and other visitors walking on the piers and along the path; a boathouse and a platform on the water are also visible. In the final part, a man is shown sitting on the edge of the path, painting the landscape.
